Backup & Deleted Wallets feature on iPhone & iPad
eWallet® 8.12 for iPhone & iPad includes a new feature for saving copies of deleted and changed wallets. These local copies of your wallet can come in handy for restoring an accidentally deleted wallet, or going back to an older version of your wallet to retrieve important information.

What is eWallet?
eWallet – What is it, exactly? We see and hear about “digital wallets” and “electronic wallets” (e-wallets) more every day. These are apps on your phone like Venmo, PayPal, or even Apple Pay, for making purchases electronically.

eWallet for Android and Local Backups
eWallet® for Android version 8.6 and later changes the way local wallet backup files are stored due to required changes by Google and Android OS. Before version 8.6, if the Local Backups setting was turned on, eWallet would periodically make an internal backup of the wallet, and place it in shared storage on the device (typically in eWallet/backups).

Controlled Folder Access
Windows 10, version 1709 (“Fall Creators Update”) includes a new feature called Controlled folder access. When activated, Controlled folder access can intercept an application and prevent it from saving changes to certain folders. For eWallet® this means that if Controlled folder access is turned on, eWallet may not be able to save changes to your wallet file.

Copy eWallet cards from one wallet to another
If you want to divide your eWallet® wallet into two wallets (each with different data) in eWallet for Windows or eWallet for macOS, you can make a copy of your wallet and remove cards from each so they have different contents, OR, you can make a new wallet and copy individual cards into the new wallet.

High DPI Monitor and Windows 7, 8
Running eWallet® 8.2 or higher on Windows 7 with a high DPI (high density) monitor? If eWallet’s appearance doesn’t look right, you may simply need to change a property: Right-click on eWallet in the Start menu Select Properties -> Compatibility Toggle the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox so it is checked Note that this procedure is only for Windows 7 (and sometimes Windows 8) and is not necessary for Windows 10 or 11.

Getting Started with eWallet for Android
The Android version of eWallet is designed to help you organize and encrypt your personal data within a wallet file. To create a new wallet: Open the eWallet program. At any wallet log-in screen, tap the “Wallets” button to navigate to the master list of wallet files on your device.

eWallet Privacy Policy
Any information you choose to store in eWallet® is for your use only and is not available to Ilium Software. If you have a choice of where to store your eWallet wallet files, then it is your responsibility to store them in a safe location.

INFO: eWallet indicates that a file is read-only
If eWallet says that a wallet file is in use or read-only, then it isn’t able to write to the file. Here are the reasons why: Your wallet file is already open in another instance of eWallet.

ERROR: This wallet is currently locked
“This wallet is currently locked. Access to protected data is not allowed.” means that you have entered the wrong password too many times in a row. eWallet has an option to lock the wallet after this happens to help prevent someone getting into your wallet by using a program to make repeated password guesses.
