On a Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone, you can prevent DockWare from running when you don’t want it to by using a Blocklist file.

You can install a newer version of DockWare, or upgrade to DockWare Pro even if you have DockWare pre-installed on an HP iPAQ. Just run the installation file as you normally would. Upgrading to DockWare Pro will give you more features; updating DockWare will give you the latest build, with minor improvements and bug fixes.

DockWare’s auto-start component can cause Letter Recognizer to have problem with two-stroke letters (i, accented letters, etc.) If you would like to fix the problem, follow the steps below. Unfortunately these steps also disable the code that allows DockWare to start up on its own when the device is idle.

ERROR: File Load Error while DockWare is displaying images
If DockWare (Free and Pro) cannot display an image because there is not enough memory or the file is corrupted, you will see the error message “File Load Error” and no picture will load. One of the most common causes of this error is using images that are too large to fit into your PDA’s memory while DockWare is running, such as high-resolution images from digital cameras.

INFO: Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC or Smartphone runs out of storage memory while running DockWare
Earlier versions of DockWare had an issue where images that failed to load would lead to memory issues on Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PCs and Smartphones. This no longer happens in the latest versions of DockWare.

Unfortunately, while DockWare does randomize the order of the images, it does not create a new random order every time the program runs.

ERROR: No Bitmaps Found
DockWare may display the error message “No Bitmaps Found” if there are no picture files to display, or if the pictures are in are unsupported picture formats. Valid Picture Formats: Only JPG, JPEG, and BMP images will work for Pocket PC and Smartphone Progressive scan JPG/JPEG images will sometimes not work properly on any devices.
