eWallet launches IE instead of Edge for AutoPass
Why does eWallet® for Windows launch Internet Explorer (IE) rather than Microsoft Edge for the eWallet AutoPass feature, even though Edge is configured as the default browser? This happened in versions of eWallet before 8.4 because Microsoft Edge did not support extensions/plug-ins, a feature that is necessary for AutoPass be able to fill in user names and passwords on websites.

Corrupted Windows Font File

ERROR: Unhandled Exception Access to path is denied
If you see an unhanded exception that includes the following text: “Access to path C:\Users\<your_user>\AppData\Roaming\Ilium Software\eWallet\NavPanelLayout.xml is denied” Where your computer user name appears in the above brackets, you can try these steps to help resolve this exception:

ERROR: Card with that name already exists in category.
“Card with that name already exists in category.” Generally, we only see this sync error when two cards within a single category in your Android wallet file have the same name. eWallet for Windows PC does require that each card within a category have a unique name.

ERROR: Invalid field ID 0x802A for this card kind.
“Invalid field ID 0x802A for this card kind.” If you are seeing the above error message, first make sure you have the very latest version of eWallet installed: Open eWallet on the PC, choose the “i” icon, and click “Check for updates”.

FAQ: Why is Copy and Paste not working with eWallet?
We’ve had reports from users that Webroot SecureAnywhere may sometimes disable copy/paste functionality for database applications (like eWallet). You can add eWallet to the list of programs overlooked by Webroot’s Identity Shield feature: Go to Webroot > Identity Protection Settings tab.

eWallet 7.2 now supports iOS 4.x’s multitasking feature (compatible devices only; iPhone 3G S and newer, iPod touch 3rd generation and newer, and the iPad with iOS 4.) By default, eWallet 7.2 is set to not lock your wallet when you switch to another program or switch back to the home screen.

ERROR: eWallet 7 appears to cause a bluescreen crash that reboots Windows
Some users have encountered a problem where their PC will bluescreen and reboot while using eWallet 7. The blue screen message will indicate that a problem has occurred in windrvNT.sys. WindrvNT.sys is a part of New Software’s FolderLock version 5.

ERROR: Unable to expand shell folder constant 'Userdocs' When installing eWallet on a Windows PC
Certain users may receive the error message, “failed to expand shell folder constant “userdocs”” when installing eWallet. First, make sure you are trying to install eWallet 6.1 or newer. Next, if your user documents folder is mapped to a network drive and you log into Windows Vista as an administrator, you may need to implement the following fix as specified in this Microsoft KB article:

INFO: I have a Sonicwall firewall/router and I cannot sync my iPhone!
Some models of wireless router/firewall devices from Sonicwall will block Apple’s Bonjour service, and thus block eWallet sync from working. So far, we have identified the TZ-190 and TZ-150 as devices that block Bonjour. As far as we know, the router cannot be configured to allow Bonjour; it’s inherent to the design of the router.

INFO: Differences between FlexWallet and eWallet
eWallet and FlexWallet 2006 have some important differences: Templates: FlexWallet 2006 has templates that are linked to cards created using them; eWallet’s templates are only used when actually creating a new card. This means that editing an eWallet template does not change existing cards in your wallet while editing a FlexWallet template does change the cards made with that template.

ERROR: eWallet cannot open my FlexWallet file!
Note: eWallet 7.x cannot upgrade FW2 files. You will need to use eWallet 6.2 to upgrade them. If eWallet cannot open your FlexWallet file for conversion, first make sure that your file is a .fw2 file.

eWallet’s synchronization process is designed to never need your wallet password. This means that your desktop wallet file - and the wallet on whatever device or location you are syncing with - must have the same password.

FAQ: Why do some of my imported FlexWallet cards look like they did in FlexWallet?
eWallet imports customized FlexWallet templates or user-created FlexWallet templates as General Purpose cards. In eWallet, General Purpose cards are displayed in Flex View by default, regardless of the global “Use Flex View” setting. To change a single card between Flex View and Card View, go to the Design tab for that card.

ERROR: Invalid Block Number when importing from FlexWallet on Windows PC
If your FlexWallet .fw2 file is larger than 3MB, eWallet will not be able to import it. If your FlexWallet wallet file is too big, you will need to split it up into several different files using FlexWallet 2006, and then convert each of them in eWallet.

FAQ: Where did my eWallet desktop icon go on Windows?
eWallet 5.0 and newer for Windows no longer installs a shortcut icon onto your desktop PC. We made this change because of Windows Vista and later; Microsoft no longer recommends that software install icons to your desktop by default.

ERROR: Registration info could not be saved when registering the trial on Windows PC
eWallet 5.0 and later versions must be installed and registered as an administrative user on your Windows PC. If you have Windows 7 or Vista, you may need to specifically run the program as administrator even if you log in as a user with administrative privileges.

ERROR: Wrong Database Version Number
“Wrong Database Version Number” means that your eWallet data file is a newer format than the version of eWallet you have installed. This might happen if you installed different versions of eWallet on a desktop and a PDA.
