FAQ: Does SyncPro replace ActiveSync or the Windows Mobile Device Center?

No. SyncPro works in conjunction with ActiveSync and the Windows Mobile Device Center to provide item level synchronization for Windows Mobile devices. SyncPro cannot synchronize with Windows Mobile devices without ActiveSync or the Windows Mobile Device Center and does not replace them.

In other words, ActiveSync/WMDC provides the actual connection between your Windows Mobile device, and also can handle synchronization of various things with your device. SyncPro uses the connection with your device made by ActiveSync, but the actual synchronization is done by eWallet itself.
