Does eWallet® support 2FA / MFA? Yes, it does! eWallet already fully supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) / Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) where you would typically expect it, when using cloud based services such as iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive.

eWallet for iPhone & iPad and Face ID
Does eWallet for iPhone/iPad support Apple’s Face ID? Yes! Starting with version 8.3.6, eWallet® on the iPhone X (and newer devices with compatible hardware) will support Face ID. This feature is turned off by default, but you can enable it for your wallet(s) as outlined below.

eWallet for Android and biometric authentication
Does eWallet for Android support biometric authentication? Yes! Starting with version 8.2, eWallet® for Android on compatible Android OS 6 and later devices will support the built-in fingerprint scanner. eWallet 8.5 and later for Android supports facial recognition, iris scanning, and of course fingerprint recognition as well on compatible Android devices.

Is using Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive for storing cloud wallet (.cwlt) files secure?
As far as the security of your data, this seems to always be a balance between security and convenience, which is why we still offer the local Wi-Fi sync methods for people who don’t want to use the cloud.

There are a few ways you can lock your wallet, the simplest being simply pressing the lock button within eWallet for Android. You might prefer something a bit more automatic though and we have a couple of options there:

To change or remove your password hint in eWallet, change the password, and on devices that support a hint, you’ll be able to type in a new one (just leave the field blank if you don’t want a hint).

HOWTO: Change the password in eWallet for Android
To change your wallet password in eWallet for Android: Open your wallet file on the device. On the menu bar, tap the More button (three vertical boxes icon). Tap “Change Password”. Enter your wallet’s current password, and then set a new password and password hint for your wallet file.

FAQ: Can I make eWallet lock when the device goes to sleep?
Yes absolutely. You do this with eWallet’s settings: Start eWallet and unlock a wallet Select More (3 dots) → App Settings Slide Lock on Suspend to the on position You may also want to set a shorter timeout for eWallet (see Set eWallet to lock automatically for details.

eWallet® uses the secure 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for encrypting information in your wallet. This is the same encryption method that many government organizations require to protect their data. FAQ: What's my password? What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
Only you know the password to your own wallet file. When you first create a wallet you are prompted to enter a password to protect your wallet file. Unless you later changed it, whatever password you entered when you created the file is your password now.
