Setting up eWallet's cloud sync on Windows

Last Updated:

eWallet® for Windows includes a synchronization engine called SyncPro® that allows syncing between a master cloud wallet and a local wallet. Need help setting up sync for the first time? You’ve come to the right place!

Note that this information is also included in eWallet’s built-in help documentation, which you can get to from the Help Center (? at the top right corner of eWallet’s main window).

You’ll need eWallet for Windows, version 8.5.8 or newer to use eWallet’s SyncPro® cloud sync with the latest version of Dropbox services. You’ll need version 8.10 or newer to use Google Drive services, and version 8.11 or newer to use Microsoft OneDrive services.

Configuring Sync

Complete the one-time steps below to configure syncing via the cloud for your wallet:

  1. Start eWallet and if you have a copy of the wallet on your Windows PC already, open it
  2. Start the Sync Manager from the toolbar area
  3. If your Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or iCloud account is not listed as one of the Sync Locations:
    1. Press Add
    2. Select Cloud Sync
    3. Select the Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, or iCloud button
    4. For Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive: if necessary, enter any appropriate credentials and allow access for eWallet; otherwise select your Sync Location and press Next
      1. If you have a copy of the wallet on your PC opened already and want to sync with it, choose the Select the open wallet option button and press Next
        –or–
      2. If you’d like to start with a wallet in the cloud, select “Choose a wallet that is on [cloud service]”, choose the cloud wallet that you want to sync with and toggle the button next to it to turn on sync for that wallet and press OK (Note if you’d like to save your local copy of the wallet to a different location than the default displayed, then press the Change button and select a directory before pressing OK)
    5. Press Close in the Setup Complete panel and then Close in the Sync Manager panel
  4. If your Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, or iCloud account is already listed as one of the Sync Locations (i.e., previously configured):
    1. Select the Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, or iCloud Sync Location (the sync direction is likely “None” at this point)
    2. If you want to get a local copy of a wallet that’s only in the cloud, press the Download button; otherwise select Edit and change the Sync Direction to “This wallet synchronizes with…” and press the OK button

Sync with Cloud Wallet

You should now be good to go! You can always sync your wallet by pressing the Sync Now button at the top of eWallet. By default, eWallet for Windows automatically syncs with your cloud wallet when you start eWallet and when you close it. The automatic syncing can be changed in the SyncPro Options panel, available from the Sync Manager.
